Prism at Melbourne Recital Centre
Artistic Director Gemma Turvey and the NPCO String Quartet present Prism, a delightful excursion through the angles of perception and illusion on Friday 17th November 7pm at Melbourne Recital Centre Salon.
Prism features the premiere of Gemma’s composition Prism for Piano and String Quartet, alongside Arvo Pärt’s transcendent Spiegel im Spiegel featuring Phoebe Green (viola), and Gemma’s arrangement of Piazzolla’s stunning Oblivion featuring Jeremy Blackman (violin). Cellist Campbell Banks will also perform one of Grammy award-winning Eugene Friesen’s most defining works, Shadow Play!
In the intimate setting of the Melbourne Recital Centre Salon, audiences will be taken on an inspiring journey as Gemma leads listeners carefully through the repertoire with stories and special insights.
We can’t wait to share this journey with you. Prism is the final concert in the NPCO’s 2017 Season. We look forward to seeing you there!
