NPCO with Consort of Melbourne

7:30pm Thursday 10th Sept, Deakin Edge Federation Square

Join us for the third and final concert in our Bridging Traditions Concert Series for 2015, featuring special guests, premiere vocal ensemble The Consort of Melbourne.

With over 17 musicians on stage when the two ensembles combine, the evening will celebrate centuries of vocal music with selected works from the renaissance through to folk anthems, music from our featured CDs and one or two breathtaking surprises!

The Consort of Melbourne champions both historic and contemporary chamber vocal repertoire. It comprises a core membership of eight singers, which expands or shrinks as the repertoire demands. In 2013 Consort performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in The Crowd: a collaboration between the ACO artistic director Richard Tognetti and cinematographer Jon Frank. Most recently, Consort performed with the Rolling Stones at Rod Laver Arena in the classic hit You Can’t Always Get What You Want.
