Good vibes at the Jazzlab!

Thank you to everyone who came along for our debut performance at Melbourne’s new Jazzlab on Sunday night! We had so much fun sharing some of our favourite tunes with you all. We’re sure you’ll agree witnessing virtuoso vibraphonist Craig Beard in action is an absolute treat!

The music continues next month with Campbell and Gemma on Sunday 17 June 2pm for NPCO at East Melbourne Synagogue, as they present a special cello and piano recital including music by JS Bach, a reprise of Bloch’s From Jewish Life and Bohuslav Martinu’s sunny Sonata No 3 for Cello and Piano, plus one or two NPCO favourites.

Tickets are $40/$25 students. Book online at trybooking.com

Martinu was heavily influenced by American jazz especially the music of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.  It is interesting to note his music would have been just as at home in Sunday night’s jazz session as it will be in the recital setting!

We look forward to seeing you there!
