From Jewish Life Thursday 17 May at Melbourne Recital Centre, Salon

From Jewish Life offers a glimpse of the rich and diverse tapestry of Hebraic culture with music from Poland, Israel, South America and Australia on Thursday 17 May 7pm at Melbourne Recital Centre Salon.

The concert centres around Ernest Bloch’s heartfelt From Jewish Life featuring cellist Campbell Banks with NPCO AD, pianist Gemma Turvey.  NPCO woodwind extraordinaire Karen Heath and violinist Jeremy Blackman also share the spotlight, with music by Australian composers George Dreyfus, Shaun Rigney, Gemma Turvey’s Ha Ben & Coda, and traditional melodies and improvisations.  NPCO is thrilled to be joined by special guest guitarist Gidi Ifergan for the evening.
